Dale enlisted in the Army on September 26, 1979 serving 21 years retiring October 31, 2000.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Martha Burdette, his daughters Deanna Clavell (Tim), Samantha Fendelman (Greg), his 6 grandchildren, Makenzy (22), Myranda (21), Sabastian (16), Jade (4), Jacob (2), and Jayce (7 weeks) along with his mother Evelyn Burdette, sisters Sharon and Denise, and brother Todd of Pennsylvania. Dale is preceded in death by his father Dale F. Burdette.
Dale was known for his love of College Basketball (GO DUKE!), Ham radios, lifelong love of computers and technology, and unwavering commitment to his career of 24 years supporting the military as a contractor.
Dale was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He had an infectious smile with a witty personality. Those who knew him well, knew he always had a good joke or funny face to lighten the mood.
His military decorations include the Meritorious service medal (3rd award), Army Commendation Medal (5th award), Army Achievement Medal (7th award), Army Good Conduct Medal (7th award), National Defense Medal, Noncommissioned Officer’s Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 3, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (4th award), Sharpshooter Marksmanship, Qualification Badge with rifle bar, and Air Assault Badge.
Visitation will be held at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home on April 11, 2024 from 6pm-8pm. A military honors ceremony will be held at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery on April 12, 2024 at 12 pm.
