OBITUARY

David "Jake" Theodore Brinegar

September 13, 1929July 20, 2020

David "Jake" was born in Copperas Cove to Charles and Lottie (Kidd) Brinegar on September 13, 1929. A visitation for David will be held Friday, July 24, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, Copperas Cove, Texas. A graveside service will occur Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Clear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Copperas Cove, Texas. He was the youngest of 8 children. He graduated from Copperas Cove High School. He took a correspondence course in electronics and opened a tv repair shop, Jakes TV Repair. He married the love of his life (Ethel) LaNell Higgins on September 15, 1951. They lived in Copperas Cove until they bought a house with land near Izoro in 1966. He was a lifelong rancher and was always helping a neighbor when he could. David is preceded in death by his wife, (Ethel) LaNell Brinegar, his daughter Joyce (Brinegar) Ward and son-in-law Randy Ward. David is survived by his son David E and wife Kim. Also his grandchildren: Manon Shockey, Matthew Brinegar, Courtney and husband Neil Caffey, and Carl Ward; and numerous nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers are: Charles Brinegar, Neil Caffey, Dusty Mahan, Gary Brinegar, Richard Brinegar and Joe Don Brinegar.In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to the Alzheimer Association.
