David was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on April 4, 1965 to parents David J Stibbe and Joan V Oetlinger.
He joined the US ARMY in 1985 having proudly served more than 26 years, he moved to Copperas Cove, Texas in 1998, where he made Central Texas his home. He loved history and museums and even worked at 3rd ACR Museum where he found his passion for military artifacts. He provided many tours to patrons but he was especially popular with the school groups. They were drawn to his quick wit and his ability to share history in a way that was enjoyable to them. He was a true Green Bay Packer fan, infact, you would never catch him with his Green Bay hat off in public. He was known for being very witty and was a very loving person. In 2010 he meet his companion, caregiver and friend known as his "bestie" Diane Hartman.
David is survived by a daughter; brothers, Scott M Stibbe of Cudahy, Wisconsin, Christopher Stibbe of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Mark Stibbe of Cudahy, Wisconsin, Michael Stibbe of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Sisters; Nicole Stibbe of San Antonio, Texas and Susan Wettberg of Sturdevant, Wisconsin.
