Deidra McComas

Deidra was born October 16, 1949 in Deport, Texas to Raymond F. Pomroy and Bonnie Sybal Humphrey Pomroy.

She attended Paris schools and graduated from Paris High School before attending Kilgore College in Tyler, Texas. Deidra was a member of the Kilgore Rangerettes from 1968-1970. She continued her studies at SSC in Durant, Oklahoma before starting her 29 year teaching career. She retired from Copperas Cove High School June of 2003, after 24 years there as a History teacher.

Deidra married William (Billy) McComas June 3, 1982 in Paris, Texas. They had just celebrated thirty years of marriage together. They were at their happiest spending time together on their home place affectionately known as “chigger ridge”. Avid cooks, Deidra and Billy spent much time in the kitchen together as well as outdoors riding the Harley. Deidra was a lover of animals and never hesitated to feed any stray that was fortunate enough to find their way to her door. She enjoyed her family and friends and keeping up with them all via phone calls or social media. She will truly be missed by all who were blessed to have known her. William K McComas preceded her in death November 22, 2012.

Deidra is survived by her brother Gary Pomroy of Paris, Texas, Sister in law Sherry Wade of Temple, nieces : Tina Eudy and husband Larry of Salina, Kansas, Teresa Thornton of Paris, Cassie Benedict and husband Jason also of Paris, Melissa Attaway of Desoto, nephew Bryan Wade of Temple, a number of great nieces and nephews and many close friends she considered family.
