April 4, 1948 – October 15, 2026
Desiree Hale, 78, a woman of deep faith, a beautiful voice, and a heart that welcomed everyone she met, went home to be with the Lord on October 15, 2026, in Copperas Cove, Texas.
Desiree was born on April 4, 1948, in Georgetown, Guyana, to Madeline and Robert Haynes. She graduated from high school in Georgetown and went on to work as a receptionist at Demerara Tobacco Company, where her warmth and grace made her a familiar and welcoming presence.
In 1989, Desiree and her family began a new chapter in the United States, settling in New Hope, Minnesota. In 2004 she made her home in Miramar, Florida, where she spent more than twenty years and joined the choir at St. Bartholomew. Singing was one of her greatest joys, and lifting her voice in praise was where she shined brightest. In 2025 she moved to Copperas Cove, Texas, surrounded by the love of her family.
Above all, Desiree loved Jesus. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she carried it with quiet strength through every season. Psalm 23 was her favorite scripture, and she could recite it by heart. Its words, "The Lord is my shepherd," reflected the trust and peace she lived by every day. Faithful, strong, and endlessly loving, she touched the lives of everyone who crossed her path, and she was dearly loved in return.
Desiree was preceded in death by her parents, Madeleine and Robert Haynes, and her brother, Anthony. She is survived by her loving husband, Ian Hale; her sister, Deanna; her sons, Ryan Hale (Lynette) and Stefan Hale (Mattie); and her eight grandchildren, Aryanna, Avery, Joel, Addy, Dillon, Joseph, Lilli, and Ruthie, who were the light of her life. She was also eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first great-grandchild, Eliana, who is expected in March 2027.
There will be a small gathering to celebrate Desiree's life at a viewing on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Copperas Cove, TX.
Though we will miss her voice, her laughter, and her love, we take comfort in knowing she is now singing with the angels.
