

Born on June 24, 1954 in Washington, D.C., to Irving and Ruth Moerman, Diana grew up in Silver Spring, MD. She graduated with a Teacher’s Aide Degree from Montgomery Community College and later married Edward (Marc) Payne. She loved dancing, traveling, live shows, bowling, and helping others.
She enjoyed 44 years as an Interior Designer “teaching furniture” at Ledger Furniture in downtown Copperas Cove. As a mother, Diana was known for being very involved in her children’s school and extracurricular activities, even acting as president of the PTA. She taught her children to treat others as you would want to be treated (The Golden Rule) and created a home filled with laughter and teachable moments. She spent 20 years with ALTRUSA where she served a term as President, and a term as Secretary for the local AARP Association.
Diana is survived by her loving husband, Marc; her children, Raymond and Sarah; her mother Ruth Moerman, sister Elaine Hochman, and brother Steven Moerman. She is preceded in death by her father Irving Moerman.
A Memorial Service will be held at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove on October 27, 2025 at 2:00pm followed by a Reception at the Copperas Cove VFW Post 8577 . In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her honor to Parkinson.org, Diabetes.org, or to The Copperas Cove Public Education Foundation.
