Dixie LaFaye Meyers

In life, Dixie was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother and enjoyed traveling to visit her family. Dixie's other interests included needle-point crafts, she was an avid reader, and a passionate runner who liked entering competitive races.

Preceding her in death is Dixie's husband, Walter Eugene Meyers along with her parents and siblings, Glen Swensen, Darwin Swensen, and her former husband Robert Schmidtlein.

She is survived by her siblings: Dennis Swensen, Ronald Swensen, and Carol Buchanan; sons Lee Schmidtlein (Hedy), Guy Schmidtlein (Barb), Roy Meyers, and Michael Meyers (Heather); daughter in law Lisa Meyers; and grandchildren Joshua Schmidtlein, Charley Schmidtlein, Jason Schmidtlein, Sara Bannon, Justin Meyers, Kayla Meyers, Nikolas Meyers, Ben Gillespie, Elliott Gillespie, Amelia Gillespie, Simon Meyers, and Ashleigh Barcuch.

A visitation will be held Monday, October 5, 2020 from 9-11am at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home of Killeen,Texas.

A burial for Dixie will be held Monday, October 5, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Central Texas State Veteran Cemetery, 11463 State Highway 195, Killeen, Texas.
