Donald W. Hempel

On Saturday, June 29,, 2013, Donald Wayne Hempel will be laid to rest surrounded by family and friends. Donald has been an outstanding member of the local community for 56 years; never meeting a stranger and welcoming all with open arms.

Donald is survived by his loving wife, Linda Hempel; parents Melvin Hempel and Myrtle Blackstock; children; Amanda Raine, Brandy Hempel-Chaves, Amanda Walker, and Nathan Hempel; and 8 grandchildren.

Donald had the most amazing outlook on life. Always positive, upbeat, outgoing, ready to help and lend a hand at any time. Donald was a collector of many things, had stories to tell, and wisdom to bestow. A truly wise man and we are all honored to have learned from him and shared in his life.

On August 1, 1956, the world gained a hero, friend, and a true believer that there is good in all. He was called home on Sunday, June 23, 2013, to be with his Lord and he answered with open arms. Although we are saddened by the loss of a great man, we celebrate that life.

After the service please join us at the home of Donald and Linda Hempel for a covered dish fellowship. If you would like to drop off your dish before the service there will be someone there to receive it at the Hempel residence.
