Dori Moody

A celebration of life will be held at a later date for Dori Moody, 64 of Copperas Cove, Texas. Dori died Oct 25, 2024 at her home. She was born March 14, 1960 in Las Cruces, New Mexico to Terry Nelson and Clara Pittman Turner.

Dori graduated from Central Texas College in 1979 with an LVN license. She spent over 40 years in the healthcare field. Dori started her nursing career at Windcrest Nursing Home in Copperas Cove. She worked as a floor nurse at Scott and White and King’s Daughter’s Hospitals in Temple for several years. After that she went to the Veterans Hospital in Temple and stayed for over ten years. Upon leaving the VA Hospital she went into working Pediatric Home Health Care taking care of medically complex children.

Special thanks for the care, compassion and love provided by the Cancer Care Clinic and Dr. Ramakrishnan and his staff on the 6th floor at St David’s South Austin Medical Center.

Dori was preceded in death by her son Jacob Isaiah Moody, grandson Terrion and her father Terry.

Survivors include her mother Clara. Her children Rachel Turner Bennett and her husband Kareem Bennett, Marie Turner, Joshua Moody and Zachary Moody, all of Copperas Cove. Her husband Wallace Craig Moody of Copperas Cove. A brother, Duke Lee Turner and wife Donna of Kempner. A sister Helen Gonzales of Gatesville. 4 grandchildren Edan Turner, Arianna Bennett, Alexia Bennett, and Zori Moody. Nieces and nephews Brandie Davis, Tanner Gonzales, Dariann Gonzales, Augustus Turner, and Jackson Turner.
