A memorial service for Mr. Kennedy will be held on Monday, June 1, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove with Chaplain Herb Wright officiating.
Douglas was born on February 6,1960 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Clarence and Irvaline Rogers Kennedy. He attended and graduated high school in Ralston, Oklahoma. Mr. Kennedy joined the Army in 1985 and served proudly for 20 years, retiring in 2005 as a SFC. Douglas was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan during the Iraq wars. After retirement, he went to work for BAE Systems on Ft. Hood as a civilian contractor until 2014.
Mr. Kennedy was preceded in death by his father and a grandchild, Shiobian Kennedy.
He is survived by his wife Isolde Lehmann Kennedy, son Sean Kennedy, daughters Christa and Cyndell Kennedy and Chassidy Ashlock, 6 grandchildren, brothers Dave, Roger, and Dennis Kennedy and a sister Kerri Yandell.
Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove is in charge of the arrangements.
