Gabriele Delgado went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Friday July 17, 2026. Born Gabriele Pfeifer, May 12th 1947 in Mainz Germany, she and her only sibling Renata Hogan, now living in Illinois, with her husband John, spent a joyful childhood in the countryside and orchards of Finten, Germany. They remained close, loving sisters all their lives.
As a young woman, Gabriele met and married the love of her life, Graviel Delgado, a handsome young soldier serving in the U.S. Army in Germany. Upon retirement they settled in Copperas Cove Tx. Graviel preceded Gabriele to Heaven in 2022. Their marriage of 57 years was blessed with sons, Manuel Delgado, Graviel (Del) Delgado, daughter-in-love Leila MacDonald, and Wayne Delgado all of Copperas Cove TX. They were proud grandparents of Anthony Delgado, Jeff Delgado, Jessicka Delgado and husband Jeffery, Jeremy Hutton and wife Kelly, Shane Davis and wife Brandi, Billy Fisher and wife Chelsea and great grandparents to Macianna, Cassian, Rusell, Luna, Skyy, Easton, Brantley, and Valerie.
Gabriele’s life was focused on her family and her faith in Jesus. Faith, family, and a deep love for this nation as well as a love for the lost, tell the story of her life of intercession and service. She was proud to be a naturalized citizen of the United States. She loved to cook, bake and show her love for her family by hosting many family gatherings. Her son’s, grandchildren and great grands were the joy of her life and the focus of her prayers and love.
Gabriele loved serving the Lord in church as well as in Christian ministries. She was a great prayer warrior with unwavering faith and an unselfish love. She served in Aglow International, and Prison ministry in Gatesville TX, ministering in the Mountain View Unit, and on death row for women, or as she called it “Life row”. Many were led to Jesus through her ministry. Gabriele co-hosted a television program called “The Journey” on KPLE-TV and was a founding member of Compass Regional Network in Killeen TX the last 15 years of her life.
Gabriele’s legacy is to have influenced generations in both her family and in the family of God. She entered into the presence of the Lord hearing “well done my good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of the Lord” Matt 25:23. Her generous and loving presence will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held August 17, 9:00 am at the Central TX State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 Ft Hood Street, Killeen TX 76542
