Gena served in the U.S. Army for 11 years and achieved the rank of Sergeant. She served during Desert Storm and was awarded by the Navajo Nation with a Desert Storm service medal.
After she was honorably discharged from the Army, Gena dedicated herself with great passion to caring for her family, furry family, close friends as well as her home and ranch. Gena was an advocate for animal rights and had a special connection with animals; as much as Gena loved all animals, the animals loved her too as she became their safe haven. Gena and her husband, David, would take in strays amongst their own furry children and nurture them until they were able to find them other loving homes.
