Gloria Martinez

Known by many names throughout her life, Gloria was “Grandma” to many, “GG” to others, and “Ma” to those who held her especially close. Her life was marked by the love she shared with her family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to be part of her chosen family.

Gloria spent 32 years working for CCISD and continued working full-time until she was 85 years old. She especially loved the special needs children she worked with, and they held a very special place in her heart.

She also enjoyed traveling with her family, making treasured memories on trips to the coast, tubing the rivers, and visiting places throughout the United States and Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Concetta Galasso; her sister, Theresa Sangenito; her brother, Freddy Galasso; her husband, Martin Martinez; her son, Anthony Copersino; her grandson, Dale Adkins Jr.; and her granddaughter, Jenny Martinez.

Gloria is survived by her daughter, Susan Hayes, and her husband, Peter Hayes from Huntsville, Texas; her daughter, Maria Ramminger, and her husband, Michael Ramminger from Kempner, Texas; and her son, Chris Martinez, and his wife, Donna Martinez from Port Charlotte, Florida. She is also survived by her chosen family, Dwane and Kristin Cummings with Claire and Colby from Evant, Texas.

She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Petey Hayes, David and Shelli Hayes, Jessica Martinez, Nicole Copersino, Heather Adkins, and Marisa Bogart. Gloria is also survived by many great-grandchildren: Dominick Hayes, Grace Hayes, Kevin and Mallory Smith, Mathieu Hayes, Patrick Hayes, Michael Hayes, Payton Muse, and Jordan, Cali, Carter Copersino, Madison Hayes as well as two great-great-grandchildren.

Gloria’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and her legacy of love will continue through the generations she leaves behind. Her love, laughter, and sassiness will be dearly missed.

A Remembrance Gathering will be held on August 27, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church will take place on August 28, 2026, at 11:00 am.
