Services for Hector Santiago Vazquez-Cabrera, 69, of Copperas Cove will be 3:00 p.m. Friday at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. Arrangements have been entrusted to Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Copperas Cove. Hector passed away August 3, 2011 at his home.
Hector was born Feb 27, 1942 in Puerto Rico. He served with pride in the United States Army for more than 20 years and retired at Fort Hood, June 30, 1984. During his time in the service he received many awards including the Bronze Star, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal with Bronze 5 Loops, Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster and Marksman. He stayed in the Fort Hood area after retirement.
Mr. Vazquez-Cabrera will be remembered fondly by friends who know him.
