Helene Hendrickson

Helen was born in Oppenheim, Germany on August 22, 1935. She moved to Copperas Cove on January 15, 1958, becoming a citizen on July 2, 1962. In November of 1973, she began working for the Copperas Cove Independent School District. As a devoted teaching assistant, she remained there until her retirement in May of 1995. She loved to bowl, camp, fish, swim, and work in her yard full of flowers.

Helene was preceded in death by her parents Andreas Baade and Barbara Weis Baade, husband Clyde W. Hendrickson, daughter Betty M. Hendrickson Jones, son Derek C. Hendrickson , sisters Katarina Baade Jones, Irene Mueller, Elfriede Funk, Anneliese Hartel and brother Karl Baade. She is survived by her son Clyde W. Hendrickson, Jr. of Mount Union, PA, daughter Barbara Lamberson of Georgetown, TX, son Donald E. Hendrickson of Copperas Cove, TX, daughter Brenda Smith of Austin, TX, and her grandchildren, Catherine Parks, Clyde Hendrickson III, Christopher Hendrickson, Krysten Lamberson, Justin Hendrickson, and Jessica Hendrickson and many great-grandchildren whom she adored. Helene is survived by her brother Heinrich Baade and wife Petra, and many nieces and nephews, all in Germany.

Viewing and Funeral Service will be held at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove, TX. Viewing will be on October 17 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Funeral Service will be on October 18 at 1:00pm. Helene will be laid to rest at Copperas Cove Cemetery immediately following the Funeral Service. Pallbearers are Clyde Hendrickson, Jr., Christopher Hendrickson, Catherine Parks, Krysten Lamberson, Brandon M. Hewitt, and Cham Savage.
