Hubert Lee Brast

Hubert was born on June 28, 1932 in Bellville, TX to Benard and Mary, Brast. He had 2 brothers and 7 sisters.

Hubert married the love of his life, Shirley on December 19, 1953. They traveled the world together and lived in many duty stations.

He retired from the military after 23 years of service in the Navy and Army. He received several Commendation Medals. He was most proud to have served his country.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. Hubert leaves behind his 3 daughters, Debra Smart and son-in-law Donnie Smart; Rebecca Shuffler and son-in-law Gary Shuffler; Pamela Smart and son-in-law Brian Smart; 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Hubert is proceeded in death by his wife, Shirley Brast, his mother, father, sisters, brothers and son-in-law, Donald Smart.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 20th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home. A Funeral Services will be held on December 21st starting at 12 Noon in the Chapel of Crawford Bowers Funeral Home followed by a Graveside Service at 3:00 PM in the Central Texas State Veteran Cemetery in Killeen, Texas where he will be receiving his Military Honors for his Service to our Country.

The family of Mr. Brast would like to thank the staff of Stoney Brook of Copperas Cove and Heart of Texas Hospice for their dedication and companionship.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations be made directly to the Dementia Society of America.
