Even though most of my memories are from over the phone, because she lived in Texas and I’m in Boston I’ll never forget Auntie Irena’s voice when she would call and want to chat with her sister/ my mom. I remember she always said “I love you” before I handed the phone off. I remember every visit she’s made to Boston and all of the laughs we shared while she was here. She set the tone for respect in our family and wouldn’t acknowledge any of us if we didn’t call her Auntie. For all of this and the strong sense of family strength she taught us, I will forever be grateful and she will live on forever in our hearts. Rest Peacefully Aunt Irena. I love you! ~ Tanya

I did not really know her, only met her once. Which was enough to learn and see how wonderful an happy she was, enjoying every minute with a smile and proving sympathy to the once she just met.
An angel now to look for all of us.

I only had the opportunity to meet you once , riding from Boston to Indiana. I enjoyed our ride together and was happy for Cousin Ricky that he had a very loving wife and a new baby girl. Rest in peace Irena.

My Beautiful, Loving and caring Auntie will be laid to rest this Friday 😢 Our family will not be the same without her 💔 She is one of The most amazing woman I have ever known. My heart is breaking for my cousins, her grandchildren, her sisters/my aunts and most of all my Uncle Ricky Who she was married to for over 50 years. The only thing I find comfort in this situation is that she is now with my father, her brother who she has missed tremendously since his passing two years ago. Auntie, your legacy and memory will be honored forever. I love you, and I already miss you so much. You have always been there for me when I needed you with the no questions asked. You and Uncle Ricky have been like parents to me since I lost my own. I hope you are resting peacefully 🙏🏽
