James Andrew Litz

James married Barbara Livingston on November 25, 1979 in the state of Tennessee. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. Together, James and Barbara welcomed two sons, Joshua Peter in 1981 and Anthony James in 1982.

James enlisted into the National Guard right after high school in Utica, New York, which then led to him joining the Army, where he received several medals for his service and traveled the world. His life reflected steady commitment—to duty, to family, and to the responsibilities he carried with quiet strength.

James is survived by his sons, Joshua Litz and Anthony Litz; sister Carol Gordon, brother Mark Litz, sister Rebecca Howard, sister Julia Emeny, brother Paul Litz, and brother John Litz.

A Graveside service will be held at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at 11am. He will be inurned with his beloved wife Barbara.
