Jeanie's incredible impact on the lives of many will continue for years to come. Thoughts and prayers are with her friends and coworkers, and her family. Please know Jeanie lived a life that was way too short - but one that will never be forgotten. Her care, compassion and love for others will be felt for generations to come.

Aloha to the Barton family and know that you are all in my prayers!

There is one less ray of light on the planet with Jeanie's passing. I met Jeanie at Staff College at Ft. Belvoir, 6 years ago, and we were both students, and she was in my class.five years ago. We were classmates and we became good friends. I was immediately struck with her humor, kindness and her passion for helping Soldiers, and her love for her husband and her family..

We spoke often on the phone throughout the years about our families, and the work we both were doing with Soldiers; her at ACS and me at the VA.

She came to Honolulu a couple of years ago for a business trip for DoD, and we were able to meet up, share a meal and some laughs about our experience at Staff College.

I remember her talking about wanting to come back with her husband to see more of Hawaii, and I told her I would be glad to be their tour guide.

I know she had strong faith and know that she is at rest in Heaven with God, and she is watching over all of us, and all of the Soldiers.

I will miss my conversations, her support and her dear friendship.

Mahalo Nui Loa Jeanie (Until we all meet again)

Jeannie's family and friends, my heart is heavy for you as I know Jeannie provided a source of happiness and light to all who knew her. In her professional life she was the "go-to" ACS Director, always willing to assist and provide guidance. She was always on target with that advice and guidance. I didn't keep in close contact but knew that if I needed anything I could turn to Jeannie and she would assist me. She taught me so much about how to manage an ACS center and the myriad of things that happened inside and outside of them. She was an inspiration to all who knew her - and I will miss her very much! May God hold you in his arms as you walk this journey. Many people have you in their thoughts and prayers.
