Joe Dean Sherman

Funeral Services for Joe Dean Sherman of Copperas Cove will be Wednesday, Dec.17, 2014 at 1:30 PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Copperas Cove followed by interment at 3:00 PM with Military Honors at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. He was born Sept 15, 1941 at Humphrey Arkansas and passed away Dec. 14, 2014 in a Temple Hospital. He was raised and educated in Humphrey Arkansas and served 2 years in the Arkansas National Guard and then the U.S. Army, retiring after 27 1/2 years as a 1SG/ E/8. He was a Vietnam veteran and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. He also worked at the Fort Hood Sportsman Center for many years. He married Peggy Lou Reditt on March 11, 1965 in Humphrey Arkansas. Survivors include His wife Peggy Lou Sherman of Copperas Cove, Two sons; Joe Sherman Jr. and Angie of Roe Arkansas , Cecil Earnest Sherman and his wife Debbie Sherman of Copperas Cove and one daughter; Sarah Geneva Sherman of Austin, Texas. He is also survived by his brother Charles Dale Sherman of Brinkley, Arkansas and Five Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Rebecca Ann Sherman, Two brothers, James Sherman and Harold Dewayne Sherman and a sister, Mary Helen Allen.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 Am to 12:00 PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove. Memorial donations may be made to The Scottish Rite Childrens Hospital in Dallas.
