Kipp was born in Pueblo, Colorado, to Eugene “Gene” Miller and Winona “Nona” Miller. He spent much of his childhood in Beulah, Colorado, where he and his brothers roamed the mountains, fished, and explored.
A proud Vietnam veteran, Kipp served 21 years in the United States Army, retiring as a Sergeant First Class in the Military Police. During his distinguished military career, he served as a drill sergeant and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, among other military honors.
Kipp married Sylvia in Pueblo, Colorado. Together, they shared 56 years of a life centered on family, friendship, service, travel, and adventure.
After retiring from the Army, Kipp continued serving others through his work with Copperas Cove Independent School District and later as a professor of criminal justice at Central Texas College. Kipp was an active member of Pidcoke Methodist Church, the Exchange Club, and the Masonic Lodge. In 2020, he was honored as a Golden Deeds Recipient in recognition of his service to his community.
Family was at the center of Kipp’s life. He treasured family gatherings and Mancation trips in Colorado. He was especially proud of his grandchildren, Sean, Jeff, Kasen, Caleb, Josh, and Meggie, and loved watching each of them grow and succeed.
Those who knew Kipp will remember his patriotism, humor, generosity, love of family and friends, and commitment to serving others.
Kipp was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Nona; his siblings, Robert “Bob” Miller, Scott Miller, Conrad “Chuck” Miller, and Susanne Miller; and his beloved nephew, Brett Miller.
