

Larry James Shidell age 77 has passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, in Harker Heights, Texas. He was born in Wausau, Wisconsin on January 21, 1945, to the late Earl and Ruby Shidell. He lived in Kempner, Texas for 40 years.
He joined the military right after high school where he served in Korea, Vietnam twice, Germany, and Honduras. He served in the United States Army for 30 years as a helicopter mechanic. He retired from the military as a Command Sergeant Major (CSM) and earned the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star medal, among other awards. He enjoyed listening to music, watching his favorite football team Green Bay Packers, and helping his wife do craft shows in many parts of Texas.
Larry was a loving husband for 49 years to Tem Thi Mai Shidell and a father of three children; Missy Shidell of Clarksville, Tennessee, Brenda (Rian) Harden of Houston, Texas, and James ( Sylvia) Shidell of Germany; the loving Grandfather of ten. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
Visiting will be held at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home 211 West Ave B, Copperas Cove, TX, on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at 6 p.m. Following with full military honors at Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at 11 a.m.
