My grandmother Franziska Heyer-Sturm lighted a candle for her sister. 
Then Barbara DeShetler Williams asked if there is a way to contact us.

The woman who brought me into this world and if I was acting up would say that she will be the one to take me out of it as well. That's how strong, fearless and independent she was. But more than that, she was loving, caring and self sacrificing. Whether it was helping me buy my first car, paying my tuition, or just giving me some money so I could go out to the lake with my friends and have a good time, she would do without, so that I could do with. 
The times when she would not allow me to do something, I found out, came from her wisdom and not just trying to be controlling. She would say no, I would do it anyways, then find out that I wish I'd never done it in the first place. After a few of those, I learned to respect her wisdom and then she could teach me the why of it. 
I thank God for giving me such a wonderful and self reliant mother who could take care of herself, as well those around her, with love and dignity. 
You will be missed and forever loved in my heart, and I know I will see you again in heaven with God and our savior Jesus Christ.

I didn't. Get to know her as well as I wish but I have been blesses with an amazing family that have been sharing wounderful stories of the past with me.They tell me with smiles on there faces for every single one.She spent Thanksgiving with me and my parents and children and her and my mom really clicked,the most I ever heard her talk,for hours.That will be my story of her.God Bless. To my dearest mother & beloved Oma...I admire your strength, determination & independence.  You have given your family so much joy, so many wonderful stories to share & a lifetime of memories to cherish.  Thank you for your dedication to your family, we will always appreciate your love & devotion.  I am grateful you had the opportunity to spend so much time with your grandchildren.  Brendan will forever be your "Boogie".  Jackie will forever be your "partner in crime".  Drew will forever be your little Drewster...that "good-looking" boy.  And Emmy will forever be your "eternal playmate"...she even asked to call you today.  I have so many special stories/memories of the times you spent with us in Austin & Orlando.  So thankful for your last visit to Florida.  Happy you were actually able to Trick-orTreat for the very 1st time in your life & go on so many rides with the little ones at Lego Land. You have given the world the great gift of a beautiful family through whom your teachings and memory will live on for generations. What a wonderful legacy.

We are so saddened to hear of the passing of Oma. She was a lovely woman who loved her Grandchildren dearly. Rest in peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of her family and friends in this difficult time.

I will forever miss my mom. I love you and miss you already. I will cherish all the fun times and support you gave me.  Thank you for all you did for me and our family and for always being there for us when ever we needed you. Your support showed your dedication to us all. May you Rest in Peace!

I will always respect and love Oma for who she is as a person and what she did to support her children, I work overnight and know how hard it can be to just start your shift let alone work an additional one during the day. I admire her dedication towards her family and the love she had for them. She will be missed by me and many others.

One of my fondest memories I have with Oma consists of us laying on the living room floor playing with my Polly Pockets. We would dress them up and make them have a fashion show. Oma was always there for me and became my partner in crime when we would spy on Brendan when he was talking or with girls. Another memory I have of Oma is her standing in front of the television while Brendan is playing video games telling us she is going to teach us how to count to 10 in German. I still know how to do it and sometimes brag to my friends about my little skill my Oma taught me to do. I will miss my playmate, partner in crime, and teacher. The world lost a wonderful woman but heaven gained an angel. I love you Oma.

When I first met Brenda I knew there was something different about her. Oma you are responsible for all of that. The wonderful mother and amazing friend you raised- thank you. You are single handedly responsible for bringing 3 of the best people into the world- your kids.. Thank you! We will always love and miss you.

We were saddened to hear of Oma's passing.   She had such an adorable personality and we will miss visiting with her here in Fla.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.  xo

"Oma" was one of a kind. A true kid at heart. I remember how we would all wonder "where's Oma"!  She would just disappear and then reappear!  She had a heart of gold and will be missed. Prayers to all the family.
