Martin was born on January 15, 1948 in Rural California to Edward and Virginia Page Bender and passed away on May 02, 2014 at home, Copperas Cove, Texas.
Martin was one of thirteen brother and sisters. He served his country proudly in the United States Army through the Vietnam and Korean Wars and returned home to serve his community just as proudly with the Copperas Cove Fire Department and also retiring the Sear store in Killeen.
He was preceded in death by his parents and Susan Bender, wife of 17 years.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Bender of 12 years and daughter, Jamie Black of El Dorado, KS. and son, Martin E. Bender Jr., of Nipomo, CA, and 4 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 07, 2014 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove.
