

She was born in Jewell Kansas on September 8, 1938. Was married for 61 years to the love of her life; Paul Hamel, in Seattle Washington on September 13, 1957.
She had five surviving children, Nila Bennett - Sapulpa OK, Paul, Jr. and Barbara Hamel - Irving TX, Rose Hamel - Copperas Cove TX, Maurice and Liz Hamel - Austin TX, and Katherine and Yancey Lones - Gatesville TX.
Is survived by her grandchildren: Theresa-Marie, Mary-Rose, Christopher, Rebecca, Jennifer Flaks, Cade Norris, Michael, Matthew, and Karie Earley, Jaqueline Mackey, Crystal Bell, Samantha Aviles, and Joseph Lones. Great Grandchildren: Kaden and Colton White, Rain Randall, Isabella, Peyton, and Addilyn Brimeyer, Ryley Bennett, Jack and Annie Norris, Elle Nguyen, James and Tyler Earley, Nichols, William, Alexander, Alexis Lones, Ashton Aviles, Emma Aviles, Justin, and Grant Bell. Great-Great Grandchild: Mason Randall and many nieces, nephews and many many friends.
Is survived by her sister Nancy Aleridge, sister-in-law Beverly McMinimy, and Pauline Lambert; brother-in-laws Joseph, Raymond, and Arthur Hamel.
Was preceded in death: Husband Paul Hamel, father Fredrick McMinimy, mother Nila McMinimy, stepmother Gladys McMinimy, brothers: Richard and Ronald McMinimy, sons Joseph Maurice and Fredrick Lawrence Hamel, granddaughter Candis Nichole Hamel, and great grandchild Elicia Aviles.
Was a wonderful, caring, loving dedicated stay-at-home mom; who always put the needs of her children first. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren learned about love from the love she gave them. Worked at AAFES Four Seasons Convenience Store; was quickly promoted and running her own store within a year. Moved to Fort Hood took a job as a cashier at the PX for a short time before being promoted to the banking department, and was quickly promoted to supervisor. Left the PX to take care of her health; she was a breast cancer survivor. Later moved to work for Holy Family Church, caring and cooking for the Priests.

A Visitation for Mary will be held Friday, January 31, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, 211 West Ave B, Copperas Cove, TX 76522. A Rosary will occur Friday, January 31, 2025 at 6:00 PM. A Funeral Mass at holy family will occur Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1001 Georgetown Rd, Copperas Cove, TX 76522.
