Mary Elizabeth McCoy McKenzie was born on March 26, 1939 in Charlotte, North Carolina. She married the love of her life Leon C. McKenzie on June 14, 1956. As the wife of an Army Officer she travelled the world in support of her husband and raised four children. When they settled in Kempner Texas she worked at TG&Y, Kempner Water and Myers Cedar Yard. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Each and every one of them held a special place in her heart. Survivors include children Pamela McKenzie Cox of Lampasas, Leon McKenzie II and wife Susan of Lampasas, Timothy McKenzie and Michelle Washburn of Gatesville, Christopher McKenzie and wife Angela of Leander, and Teresa McKenzie. Grandchildren include Bruce (BJ) Cox and wife Stephanie of Kingwood, Rachel Cox, Kayla Cox Davis and husband Cory, Rikki Rodriguez and husband Benny, Kasey Summers and husband Sam of Kempner, Jessica Rutledge and Colton Jordan, Zachary McKenzie and Sami McKenzie all of Lampasas. Also Nicolette Garcia, Samantha Hernandez, and Skylar McKenzie all of Leander. Great grandchildren include Atleigh Hardaway, Lexee Marez, Zenlie Rivera, Ryker and Raider Morua, Reece Davis, Benny Rodriquez lll all of Lampasas. Ethen Scruggs and Bode Cox of Kingwood, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband Leon C. McKenzie and two sons, Dannie Lee McKenzie and Leon C. McKenzie Jr. Also her parents Robert Edwin McCoy Sr and Geneva McCoy and her brother Bob McCoy all of Charlotte, North Carolina. Also numerous aunts and uncles. Visitation will be Tuesday night from 6 to 8 and funeral will be Wednesday at 9 am at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove.
