

Opal Louise (Flippin) Hale affectionately known as MawMaw or Weezy, was born April 15,1942, in Kennedale, Texas and died on August 22, 2025, in Copperas Cove, Texas at the age of 83 due to medical complications.
Opal was the beloved daughter of Andrew and Rosa Opal Hale, both of whom proceeded her in death, as did her siblings, Andralene (James) Ray, Francis (Dee) Hillman, Ladelle (Gilbert) Retz, Jerry Hale, Roy (Linda) Hale, and Travis Hale. S/he is survived by her cherished siblings, Glen (Bobbie) Hale, Larry Hale, and Linda Kathleen Hale.
Opal's greatest accomplishments in her life were the marriages of her daughter and son to their spouses along with the births of her two grandchildren. She was proud of the accomplishments her grandchildren had from their graduation from high school to leaving to attend college and work toward their degrees and career interests. She loved her grand-pets that were part of her grandchildren's life. She nurtured both of her grandchildren from birth to entering school. She spent numerous hours reading books to them, counting with them or simply playing games with them.
Opal's hobbies were reading novels of many different genres to pass the time while her grandchildren were off to school, college, or work. She found pleasure watching her favorite television shows or movies that aired that caught her attention.
Opal loved her family dearly and worked hard to meet their needs often putting her needs on the back burner. She found great joy in giving to her family and friends spending time on considering what gift to give each individual or family. She loved baking and cooking to share with her family and friends who came into her home. Opal had a sense of humor and witty comments to share with those around her. Opal was a loving mother and will be deeply missed by her family.
A Celebration of her Life is scheduled for October 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the City Park in Copperas Cove, Texas. Bring your stories and memories to share with family and friends.
