Quieta was born in 1931 to George and Saba Hughes in Kempner, TX, where she lived until she married Floyd Kattner in 1947 at the age of 16. They moved to Copperas Cove, TX and spent the remainder of their lives there.
In 1949 Quieta gave birth to her first child, Carolyn. Four years later she gave birth to Larry.
Quieta was a stay-at-home wife/Mom/Grandma/Great Grandma, and Great-Great Grandma. She loved taking care of her family and her door was always open. Sunday dinners were a staple at her house, and everyone knew that they were welcome. You couldn’t leave Grandma’s house without having a home-cooked meal. Nothing made her happier than feeding family, friends, and loved ones.
Family was her true passion, but she also loved square-dancing, bowling, attending the grandkid’s extracurricular activities, Bingo, playing cards, and gambling of any sort.
Quieta was preceded in death by her mother Saba Hughes, her father George Hughes, her husband Floyd Kattner, her sister Pam Varney, and her son-in-law Larry Anderson.
She is survived by sister Pansy Urofsky, brother Quinton Hughes, daughter Carolyn Anderson, son Larry Kattner and his wife Darla, grandchildren Bret Anderson and his wife Jodi, Dena Wehmeyer and her husband Scott, Derek Anderson and his wife Alyssa, Britni Kattner, Shawn Kattner and his wife Jennifer, Krista Donoso and her husband Paul, and James Ward.
She is also survived by great grandchildren Bryce, Jayce, Preston, Peyton, Grayson, Piper, Carson, Chase, Carley, Nickolas, Madeline, Anderson, Brendin, Kelsey, Kayla, Taylor, Bailey, Morgan and great-great grandchildren Ramsey, Vivian, Elayna, Jaxson, Ayden, Emersyn and Elena.
