Robert McKinley Lacy was born December 19, 1928 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas and the second child of Clara Lacy McClain and Robert McKinley Lacy Sr. He grew up in a loving family of two sisters, Alice Ann Lacy Gebert and Lauretta Lacy McClain Mucha and step-father Artemus Zenus McClain in Houston Texas. In 1949, he met the love of his life, Dorothy Mae Beckman at the Copperas Cove movie theatre. On March 1, 1952 they were married at Grace Methodist Church.
They had their first daughter Deborah on January 18, 1953 and their second daughter Rebecca on January 03, 1957. He was the the best Dad, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather in the whole world. A whole lot of people say that about their Dad, but he really was the best!
He had a distinguished career in the US Air Force. Throughout his service he lived in; Japan, Copperas Cove, French Morocco, Bangor, Maine, San Antonio, Thailand and retiring in Houston in 1968. In 1988, he retired from Region IV Education Service Center after 20 years of dedicated service.
Daddy and Mom loved to travel to Las Vegas and Louisiana to gamble. Being with his family was his favorite thing. He loved to cook, making a great crab gumbo, chicken salad and homemade ice-cream among other great foods.
He leaves behind Daughters Debbie Lacy and Becky Lacy Klix, Sister Alice Lacy Gebert. Son-in-law Kris Klix, Grandchildren Bristelle & husband Joel McCullough, Brandon Lacy, Katie and husband Brandon Henry and Kristopher Klix Jr. Great-grandchildren Jacob, Keaton, Gavin, Colton McCullough and Trent and Lawson Henry.
We will all love him forever and thank God for choosing us to be his family, it couldn’t have been more perfect.
