Sharon Ann Wilson was born on August 16,1949 in Port Arthur, Texas to Howard and Annie Bell Wilson. She attended Lincoln High School and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, Port Arthur, Texas in 1967. After graduation, Sharon joined the United States Army where she served in Germany and the USA. She was honorably discharged as an E5. Sharon obtained an Undergraduate Degree and in 1986 completed a Master of Science from American Technological University in Killeen, Texas.
Sharon was employed with the United States government as a civil service employee. She retired with over thirty years of service as an EEO Specialist and Human Resource Specialist at Fort Hood, Texas and Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Sharon married Dimitri M. Brown in 1971. They were the proud parents of a daughter, Amber Brown Jones of Copperas Cove, Texas. She was later married to Robert Whitehead from 1981 to 1989.
Sharon was a very special “Granny” to Grandsons Anthony Maurice Jones, Granddaughter Brytni Jones (Jesus), Grandson Carlton Jones Great Granddaughter Hila Fonseca and Great Grandsons Dimitri Fonseca and Leon Fonseca.
Sharon’s hobbies were playing bingo, traveling, reading, and fishing. But her passion was dancing. She was a dancer and instructor with group “Swing Floerty”.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Howard Wilson, Clifford Wilson and sister Mary Wilson. She leaves to mourn her death daughter Amber Brown Jones, brother Herbert Wilson, nieces Tomeka Wilson, Shivishie Wilson, nephews Damel Wilson and Jason Wilson, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends from all over the world.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Crawford- Bowers Funeral Home 211 West Ave B, Copperas Cove, Texas. A committal of ashes will take place at the Gulf of Mexico where she loved to fish and on one of her favorite places to travel the Las Vegas Strip.
A Celebration of Life is schedule for Sharon at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 11, 2025 in the Chapel of Crawford Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove.
