Sherman Edward “Tank” Jennings was born July 24, 1936 to Grandon and Grace Mort Jennings. He passed on September 14, 2021, at age 85, surrounded by family after a short bout with double pneumonia. Sherman was the baby of the family and had two older sisters. He served for 21 years in the Army first as an Administrative Specialist then as a Military Policeman and retired July 31, 1976. He married Helen Anna Mathieson on November 30, 1958 and they traveled the world during his military career while raising a family of seven children.
Sherman was preceded in death by his parents, sisters and wife Helen. He is survived by his second wife Margaret “Peg” Jennings. He is also survived by his seven children Sherman Jr, Loyal, William, Barry, his only daughter Renee Arnett and husband Brian, Grant and wife Carol, and Garth and wife Nikki. Along with step children Larry Lyons IV and wife Karen, Carol Holle and husband Stan. Grandchildren Morgan and Justin Jennings, Brianna Whalen, William and Jackson Arnett, Casey Vanhook and Savannah Killingsworth, Phillip and Vincent Holle, Zachary and Ivy Lyons. Numerous great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on September 30, 2021 at 9am at the First Presbyterian Church, 704 ML King Jr., Copperas Cove, TX. Internment will take place at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at 11 am.
