Tama Tammy Sue Hartman Powers

Funeral services for Tama Sue “Tammy” Powers, 52, of Mexia, formerly of Copperas Cove will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Copperas Cove. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 3 to 5 pm at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove.

Mrs. Powers passed away Thursday, November 25, 2010 at Providence Hospital in Waco, TX.

Tama was born February 7, 1958 in St. Joseph Missouri to Willis Hartman Sr. and Ruth Ann (Walker). She moved to Copperas Cove in 1967. Tama and Jimmy met at the age of 14 years old and married December 24, 1974 at the First Baptist Church of Copperas Cove, TX. She then in hand with her husband, created three children, and moved on with two grandchildren.

She was a true fighter and never stopped fighting till the good Lord called her home. Tama Sue Powers was a beloved and dedicated wife, mother, nana and lived everyday for her children and grandchildren.

Tammy was preceded in death by her father on February 23, 1997.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Jimmy Lee Powers, Sr. of Mexia, TX; son Jimmy Lee Powers Jr. of Stewartsville, MO; daughter, Traci Rene Powers of Mexia, TX; son, Mitchell Dean Powers of Belton, TX; grandsons, TreAnthony Dakota Powers and Troy William Powers of Belton, TX; two brothers, Terry Hartman and Willis Hartman, Jr., both of St. Joseph, MO; two sisters, Cindy Brenner of Cameron, MO and Penny Moreno of St. Joseph, MO, and Tama’s mother, Ruth Ann Hartman of Cameron, MO.
