He was born in Mannheim, Germany to John and Herta Sparks on August 11, 1947. He graduated from Thurston High School in Olympia, Washington in 1966 and earned multiple college degrees while serving in the US Army from 1971 until his retirement in 1992.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and was dedicated to his 43 years of sobriety and helping others achieve the same. He loved hot rods, owning and modifying several during his life. He especially loved traveling to and with his loved ones. He never met a prank he didn’t like, and his victims were many.
We loved how he always stood there waving goodbye until we were out of sight.
Ted is survived by his three children, John, David, Annie, 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
A Memorial Service will be held at Sylvia Tucker Memorial Park in Kempner, Texas on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 11:00 am. Hawaiian shirts are encouraged.
