Timothy Eric Maloney, 46, passed away on Saturday, November 30,2019 at his home in Gatesville.

Timothy was born on February 26,1973 in Boston, Massachusetts to parents Lewis Maloney and Dawna Reitz. He graduated from Kendall High School in Kendall, New York in 1992 and joined the Army shortly afterwards. Timothy served for 10 years for the army achieving Sergeant rank and Good Conduct medal. He was stationed in Germany, Fort Riley, Korea, and Bosnia. After his service in the Army, Timothy served as a Corrections officer with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

Timothy was a very adventurous soul and loved the outdoors. He traveled all over the country throughout his life. He participated in sports such as basketball and softball. Timothy enjoyed camping and even was the Leader of the Boy scouts.

Timothy is proceeded in death by his brother Patrick Maloney.

Tim is survived by his daughter Virginia Maloney of Copperas Cove, Texas and her brothers Matt and Nick; his former wife Karleen Maloney; his mother, Dawna Reitz of New York; his father Lewis Maloney of Massachusetts; sisters Shannon Kincaide of Tyler, Texas, Lisa Thomas of Seattle, Washington, and Jessica Hubbard (Greg)of Canandaigua, New York; brothers Shawn Reagan (Jessi) of Postfalls, Idaho and Samuel Maloney of Maine. Timothy also is survived by two nieces; Alsatia and Katelyn ,and four nephews Phoenix, Kaden, Ashton, and Jack.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday December 7,2019 at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove, Texas.

I worked with Tim at Camber Corporation for about 3 years. He was always sweet to me, ready to be helpful and could be really funny. I enjoyed his company and camaraderie. He will be missed. I'm grateful that I knew Tim and grateful for his service to our country. Rest in peace, my friend.

Biography

      Timothy was born on February 26, 1973 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Brighton, Mass. He was the son of Dawna Reitz & Lewis Maloney. Timothy grew up all over the U. S. & Okinawa.

      Timothy was raised with 3 sisters and 3 brothers. He had sisters; Shannon, Lisa and Jessica. Brothers; Patrick, Sam, and Shawn. Timothy was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. He and his siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.

      As a young boy, Timothy had a number of interests. Like most children, he enjoyed playing and making up games. He was curious about the world around him and was often eager to explore it. Timothy was an active child who took part in Soccer, Baseball and Basketball. He was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout. In his spare time he liked going to the beach and using his telescope. Timothy's memorable achievements included. However, to Timothy, the most fun to be had was simply playing and spending time with his friends.

      A typical teenager, Timothy had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. He graduated from Kendall High School, Kendall N. Y. In 1991. He enjoyed some classes more than others, having favorite subjects and teachers. He played basketball.

      Always considered a “good” friend to those he knew, Timothy enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several very close friends during his lifetime. Later in life, he became friends with Joel Stoatts.

      Timothy worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill the needs of Virginia R. Maloney & her two brothers Matt & Nick.

      Fortunately, Timothy enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Timothy worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. His primary occupation was a Corrections Officer with TDCJ. He was employed for Active Duty in the Army for 10 year. Timothy always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.

      Timothy was an Active Army. He was in Germany, Fort Riley, Kansas, Korea and Bosnia. Timothy saw action in Bosnia. Through his hard work, he achieved the rank of E5 SGT. He received several awards recognizing him for his service, including a Good Conduct Medal and others. His fellow soldiers viewed him as a brother in arms and knew that he was as much a part of their family as their loved ones back home.

      Timothy enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. His favorite pursuits were camping, Boys Scouts, and being a Boy Scout Leader. He was content to enjoy his favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share his interests with others.

      Timothy found pleasure in sports. In high school, Timothy played Basketball. Recreational sports included a bit of softball.

      Throughout his life, Timothy was a doer and was always actively involved in professional and community organizations. In high school, Timothy was a member of the Boy Scout Leader.

      Timothy enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for him to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things. He traveled alot in and out of Country. As an adult he traveled.

      Timothy was a lover of animals and cherished his pets. He had 2 Pit Mix Senior Dogs. They were best friends for Several years. He had pets as a young kid & always had animals as an adult.

      Timothy passed away on November 30, 2019 at at his apartment in Gatesville, TX. He is survived by Sister Shannon Kincaide of Tyler, TX, nephew Jack Kincaide, Sister Lisa Thomas of Seattle, WA, Sister Jessica Hubbard (Greg) of Canandaiqua NY, nieces Alsatia & Katelyn Holbrook, brother Shawn Reagan (Jessi) of Postfalls, ID, nephews Kaden & Ashton Reagan, brother Samuel Maloney of Maine, brother Patrick Maloney (deceased), nephew Phoenix Maloney. Services were held at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home Copperas Cove, TX.

      Simply stated, Timothy was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Timothy leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Timothy Eric Maloney.
