Virginia Denise Kelly

Virginia Denise Kelly, lovingly known as Dennie, age 69 of Copperas Cove passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 in Killeen, Texas. She was born on March 5, 1954 in Jackson, Mississippi to parents William and Hazel Garrett.

Dennie was raised in a military family and graduated from Glen Hills High School in Augusta, Georgia. She moved to Copperas Cove, Texas and managed the Copperas Cove Driver's License Office for many years. She later continued work at MHMR, an adult mental health center in Temple, Texas. Dennie enjoyed gardening and cooking in her free time. Most of all, Dennie enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Dennie is preceded in death by her father William C. Garrett and sister Connie Atkinson.

She is survived by her mother, Hazel V. Johnson; daughters Erin Kelly and Lindsey Kelly; a son, Jonathan kelly and wife Chrissy; grandchildren Tristyn, Mason, Jordyn, and Addison along with one great grandson, Braxton.

A Memorial service for Dennie will be held at Southern Hills Baptist Church in Kempner, Texas on Saturday March 25th at 2 pm.
