William “Bill” Clyde Smith, age 74, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018 at his residence in Phoenix, AZ. He was born on April 16, 1943 in Joplin, MO. He attended the University of Arlington obtaining an Associate’s degree in Engineering. Bill's passions were Commercial Photography and being a Commercial Hot Air Balloon Pilot. On May 12, 1968 he married Sharon R. Janosik in Durant, OK. He was a member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and the Balloon Association of America (BAA.) He enjoyed sailing, being a semi-pro drag racer, and hiking. Bill is survived by his loving spouse of 50 years, Sharon; 3 children, Randall Scott Smith Sr. and wife Dallas, William Greg Smith and wife Marcee, and Joseph Randall Smith; five siblings, Barbara Jean Kurlan, Ronald Michael Smith, Linda Sue Driver, Brenda Lee Lovitt, and Teresa Fayrene Smith; five grandchildren, Samantha Marie Smith, Randall Scott "Scotty" Smith, Jr., Courtney Charlene Glandorf, Michael Andreas Rodriguez, and Jacob Elijah Rodriguez; and many other loving family and friends. Memorial services will be held at 12:00 pm (Noon) on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at the Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, 211 W Avenue B, Copperas Cove, TX 76522. Reception to follow at the William & Marcee Smith Residence, 805 Massengale Circle, Copperas Cove, TX 76522.

Biography

      William Clyde Smith Jr. was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, William will be remembered as a very exceptional person.

      Simply stated, William was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. William leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember William Clyde Smith Jr.
