On Thursday, April 25, Kim Thompson made her journey to Happy Mountain. She was 81. A loving and dedicated mother, she is survived by her daughter, Susan Carl Lightfoot, son, Thomas Carl, 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Despite untold hardships growing up during turbulent times in her native homeland of Korea, Kim-Young Suk persevered. She brought that same can-do spirit with her to the United States, where she raised her two children as a single parent and became a successful small business owner. Kim was also a long time active member of the Korean Baptist Church of Copperas Cove. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 30 from 6-8 p.m. at the Crawford-Bower Funeral Home fellowship hall, 211 W. Ave. B, Copperas Cove, TX 76522. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 1 at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.

Biography

She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Young will be remembered as a very exceptional person.

Simply stated, Young was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Young leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories.
