

Martha Ann Franks Lancaster was born July 8, 1933, in Corinth Mississippi to James Rufus and Vivian Deathrage Franks. She died on July 28, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barker Johnston (Sonny) Lancaster, her parents, her sister Nelda Marie Franks McCormick and a dear cousin Louise Franks Clifton.
She is survived by two sons: Kenneth Neal Lancaster, Sr. and his wife Maud DeLes Gober Lancaster of Corinth; and Dr. James Alan Lancaster of Nashville, TN. In addition she is survived by grandchildren Darrington Ann Lancaster Ludlam (Stephen) of Cleveland, MS ; Elizabeth DeLes Lancaster , of Jackson, MS; Kenneth Neal Lancaster, Jr of Corinth, MS; Andrew William Lancaster of Nashville, TN in addition, she is survived by her brother, James Ray Franks and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family. She is also survived by a foster grandson, Zavorris Hatchett Sr. and his sons Zavorris Hatchett Jr. and Victor Hatchett.
Ann grew up in Corinth and graduated from Corinth High School in 1951. She also attended Northeast Mississippi Community College. Professionally, Ann worked for National Bank of Commerce for many years and for a time, Trustmark National Bank. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Methodist Church, now known as Christ United Methodist Church, where she served on various committees, played the piano and organ, sang in the choir for many years, and participated in the United Methodist Women. She was a volunteer with Magnolia Regional Hospital Auxiliary for a number of years. She was a member of the Corinth High School Alumni Association and was an avid supporter of the Corinth School system throughout her life. She and Sonny supported The Corinth Basketball program faithfully for many years with their attendance and by other support as well. However, Ann’s favorite role was that of wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. In her own quiet way she was a tremendous positive influence in the lives of many people.
Pall Bearers are Jeff Gardner, Mark Gardner, Tony Childs, Greg Mills, Leonard Pratt, Clifton Cornelius, Blaine Cornelius, Chip Wood and Franks Curtis.
The funeral will be held at Christ United Methodist Church 3161 Shiloh Road, Corinth at 11:30 am Thursday, July 30, 2015. Participating Ministers include Reverends Danny Rowland, Roger Shock and Pat Ludlam. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral from 10:00 am to 11:30 am in the Sanctuary of Christ United Methodist Church.
Memorials may be given to Christ United Methodist Church, First United Methodist Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
The family wants to thank Vernita Patton, Chamara Vaughn, Debra Walker, Pam Jackson, Leola King and most especially, Tammy Stubbs of Vernita’s Love and Care for their devotion to ”Mr. Sonny and Miss Ann and their care of over the last four years. Their care and support has been invaluable.
