Ann Elizabeth Perkins Rhodes

Ann Elizabeth Perkins Rhodes, 89, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at Trinity Health Care in Columbus, MS. A graveside service in her honor will be held Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Corinth City Cemetery starting at 11:00 am.

Ann was born December 3, 1932 in Corinth, MS to the late Samuel Howard and Hazel Gladney Perkins Langston. She was a 1950 graduate of Corinth High School and attended Northeast Community College. She was employed by the Northeast Regional Library and the Alcorn County school system throughout her life. Ann was a lifelong member of New Hope Presbyterian Church, Biggersville, where she served as an elder and later as an Elder Emeritus.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband, James Linton Rhodes; her parents; a son James Michael Rhodes, Sr.; and stepfather, William Thomas Langston.

Ann is survived by her daughter, Lin Rhodes Gilmer (David) of Sulligent, AL; a sister, Martha Langston Dunn (Morgan) of Rochester, WA; grandchildren, James Michael Rhodes Jr., Joseph Brewster Rhodes, Jesse Linton Rhodes (Ashlea), William David Gilmer (Joni) and Lydia Ann Gilmer Hatcher (Gavin); ten great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; and host of nieces, nephews, other family and close friends.
