Mrs. Carroll died on April 19, 2020 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was born in Alcorn County on June 28, 1931 to the late Dalton and Lola Rencher. She married the late Maury Carroll in 1950. She was 1949 graduate of Alcorn Agriculture High School where she was a cheerleader all 4 years. She was a true Aggie and never lost her school spirit. Jean became a Christian in her teen years and was a member of Oakland Baptist Church for the last few years. She was a member of East Corinth Baptist Church for over 50 years where she was always involved. She taught Sunday school beginning with the smaller children, director of middle age children and the young adult women’s class. She worked at Sears Roebuck as a credit clerk for 15 years and worked in public relations for collection for the Corinth Credit Bureau. She enjoyed working for the late Frank Berry and his wife Jane at Estate Jewelry. She retired when her only grandson was born to spend as much time as possible with him.
She is survived by her daughter, Teri Briggs and her husband Rick and her grandson, Chris Briggs; numerous cousins and her church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Maury Carroll.
Honorary pallbearers are the Ruth Ann Phillips Sunday school class at Oakland Baptist Church.
Dr. Leonard Pratt will officiate the services.
