A Celebration of Life Service for Barbara Ann Barrett, 88, is set for 1:00 pm Thursday, July 28, 2022 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with The Rev. Josh Shipman officiating. A family and friends gathering will be held on July 28, 2022 from 10:00 am to service time at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church
Barbara died July 6, 2022 at North MS Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. She was born February 14, 1934 in Sewickley, PA to the late Joseph and Anna Desko. She was a retired middle school teacher for 30 years and received a Master’s degree in Chemistry and Education. Barbara and her late husband, Henry moved to Farmington in 1998. She was an active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, having been on several committees. Barbara was also active in charitable works and with LINK here in Corinth. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Barrett II; parents; and brother, Daniel Desko.
She is survived by her son, Hank Barrett (Vikki) of Farmington; grandsons, Michael Doran (Alicia) and Bart Doran (Dawn); great-grandchildren, Aswyn, Tripp, Adnee, Archer Adler, and Cutler; sisters, Elaine Asher (Bill) of Royal Oak, MI and Margaret Desko of Annandale, VA; sister-in-law, Nan Baldwin; nieces and nephews, Judy Kenter (Mike), Greg Baldwin (Vicki), Kathleen Harper, Susan Slaw, Carol Ann Lewin (Jim), David Desko, Karen Desko, Ben Asher, Alex Barrett, and Mary Lee Barrett; and a host of friends.
Contributions in Barbara's memory may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Crosswind Ministry, Project Attention, Living Free Ministries, the Freedom Center, or any ministry that sends Bibles to those who need them or to your local church.
