Barbara Jean Mullins Wilhite, 88, passed away on August 5, 2026 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was born on September 18, 1937 to the late Art and Grace Mullins. Her life was marked by a steady devotion to home and family. A quiet strength in daily work and a faithful spirit, shaped the way she lived and served others.
A faithful member of Wheeler Grove Baptist Church, Barbara found meaning in the rhythms of community and worship. She enjoyed sewing, working in her yard, and camping with Joe Eddie—simple pleasures that reflected her contentment, her diligence, and her appreciation for time well spent.
Barbara was a 1955 graduate of Alcorn Agricultural High School (Kossuth High School). She was a homemaker that worked over the years at Gibson Discount Store, and before her retirement, she worked as a Home Health Aide—offering care with patience, dignity, and a dependable presence to those who needed it most.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Eddie Wilhite; parents; sisters, Bettye Shipman, and Leota Stanford.
She is survived by her sons, Ronnie Joe Wilhite (Donna), Eddie Wilhite (Gerri Lynne); grandchildren, Joseph Wilhite (Jamie), Haley Johnson (Cameron), Jared Wilhite (Melanie), Cayson Wilhite; great grandchildren, Jake Wilhite, Josey Wilhite, Jaxon Tucker, Easton Johnson, Haylee Johnson, Hazel Johnson, Hardin Wilhite, Rhodes Whilite, Brady Taylor, Denton Russell and a host of other family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service for Barbara Jean Mullins Wilhite is set for 2:00 pm Saturday at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Josh Westmoreland and Bro. Kara Blackard officiating. Burial will follow in the Wheeler Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Family and Friends Gathering will be Saturday from 12:00 to service time at the church.
