

Mrs. Bertha Williams was born on May 13, 1927 to the late William Albert and Climmie Newton Phillips. She died August 24, 2015 at her residence. She was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church. She worked at Wurlitzer for 10 years and was also a housewife. She loved going to church and going on church trips. She enjoyed going out to eat with her family. Mrs. Williams loved flowers and also would help anyone in any way she could.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband; William Floyd Williams, daughter; Billie Williams Jones, son-in-law; Eugene McLarty, brothers; Leonard Phillips and wife Willard, Melvin Phillips and wife Vera Mae, Thomas Phillips and sisters; Geneva Maricle and husband Dude and Lou Ella Knott and husband Sam.
She is survived by her son; Hershel Williams and wife Edith of Iuka, daughters; Ann Campbell and husband James of Glen, Betty Derrick and husband Jerry of Corinth, Brenda McLarty of Oxford. Brother; Joe Phillips and wife Barbara of Glen, son-in-law; David Jones of Elkmont, Al, sister-in-law; Dorothy Phillips of Rienzi, grandchildren; Angela Human of Iuka, Melissa McCollum of Nashville, Michael (Allison) Campbell of Belmont, Gwen (Robert) Wallace of Corinth, Stephanie (Paul) Storment of Belmont, Jeremy Derrick of Corinth, Brandon (Kayce) Derrick of Corinth, Bobby McLarty of Oxford, Shannon (Benji) Redwine of Oxford, Daniel Jones and K.C. Jones (Chip) Greenhaw. She also leaves behind 15 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday night from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McPeters Funeral Home.
