

A service to celebrate the life of William Christopher Hussey will be held at 2:00 on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at the First Baptist Church in Corinth with visitation immediately following the service. Bill was born in Prairie, MS, on October 23, 1933, to Frederick and Elizabeth Cain Hussey and died at his home on April 19, 2015. He was a graduate of Corinth High School and Mississippi State University, enjoying his campus days with his Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity brothers with whom he kept in contact for sixty years. After graduation from MSU, he served his country in the United States Air Force.
Bill was well-known in the Corinth banking community, having served as president of Security Bank, now Regions Bank, and also SouthBank FSB, now Farmers and Merchants Bank. At his death, he was serving as the director for the board of SouthBank, FSB.
Bill had been active in his church, First Baptist, leading a Sunday School class and serving on the finance committee. He was involved in community affairs, taking leadership roles in various civic organizations and clubs. He was a long time commissioner for the City of Corinth Gas and Water Department and was instrumental in the implementation of the surface water system which now serves the area.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, his daughter Beth Hussey Bush and husband Bob, his daughter Sallie Hussey, his son-in-law Brian Emmich, his grandchildren Alex Turner, Lizzie Harmon and husband Chris, Ben Emmich, Olivia Emmich, William Emmich, Leah Emmich, Kirbi Blevins and husband Sean, and great-granddaughter Sophie Harmon.
He is also survived by his wife’s children and grandchildren, Courtney Coleman, Edward and Jennifer Coleman and their children Ward and Frances, and Sarah Lyle and Emmanuel Dampoux and their children Emma-Lyle, Louis-Georges, and Honore.
His sister-in-law, Patricia Hussey, also survives him.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Kate Hussey Emmich and his brothers Ben Hussey, Plummer Hussey, and Beverly Hussey.
