Charles Frederick

Charles Hugh Frederick , 94, of Kossuth, Ms, passed away Wednesday, March 11th at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. He was preceded in death by his parents, Montie Rowland and Edward Houston Frederick; his sisters, Elizabeth Wilson and Catherine Frederick; his brother, Houston Frederick; his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth Simmons Frederick; and his close friend, Vivian Spencer.

He will be missed by his two children, Charles Hugh (Chuck) Frederick, Jr. (Carol) of The Colony, TX, and Elizabeth (Beth) McRae (Gerald) of Hoover, AL; grandchildren Charles Hugh Frederick III (Heather) of Wichita, KS, James Simmons Frederick (Summer), Matthew Francis Frederick, and Johnathan Tooke Frederick (Nathalie) all of the Dallas, TX area, and Lesley McRae Miller (Craig) and Andrew Frederick McRae, both of Hoover, AL. Mr. Frederick also has three great-grandsons, two great-granddaughters, and two more great-granddaughters to be born this spring.

Mr. Frederick was born in Walnut, MS on December 23, 1920. He graduated from Holmes Junior College and taught school briefly prior to being employed by AT&T. He served in the Air Force during World War II, returning to AT&T upon the end of his service. He was a volunteer in the community in many activities enjoyed by his children from baseball, scouting, to junior high and high school band. He retired after 33 years with AT&T to enjoy traveling, gentleman farming, and volunteer work. He has been a long time member of Kossuth United Methodist Church.

The last few years have been physically difficult, yet Mr. Frederick maintained his independence with much assistance from his devoted friend, Pat Stoop, and the patient and kind care-givers: Vicki Bain, Kim Overbey, and Tabitha Sharp.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening, 5-8 PM at Memorial Funeral Home with additional visitation on Wed at 10 AM at Kossuth United Methodist Church prior to the 11 AM funeral service. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Kossuth United Methodist Church F.U.E.L (Forever Unending Eternal Love) children’s ministry, 8 CR 604, Kossuth, MS 38834.
