The Youth Prep team at NHQ for the American Red Cross would like to send our heartfelt condolences to everyone who loved Cheryl. She was one of our best and brightest and we were so thankful for her dedication to our youth preparedness programs. She was one of our "golden unicorns" and an incredible preparedness champion. We will miss her dearly and are grateful we had the privileged of knowing her!

My deepest condolence to the family. I only knew Cheryl for a short while. I was looking forward to working with her closely. We spoke for about two hours about two weeks ago and it was absolutely a pleasure. We were able to collaborate together on a project. I enjoyed spending time with Cheryl that day and I knew that we were going to do great things together. We would alleviate human suffering thru our preparedness initiatives. But God had other plans. To her children and family, your "Sweet Cheryl" was a blessing to the American Red Cross and will be missed. I will continue to keep you all in my prayers and will ask God to ease your pain and suffering. May God bless you..

Sincerely Debbie Looney

It has been a privilege to work with Cheryl these past few years and she is already missed by her Red Cross colleagues. She was a valued preparedness adviser to me and to all Red Crossers: someone we knew brought experience, knowledge and dedication to the job and a willingness to help us and guide us whenever we asked. God bless you, Cheryl. And God bless the family and friends you left behind.

Cheryl was such as beautiful person and was always willing help others in need. Many times I called on Cheryl to help me and she was such a great trainer and mentor. She was very dedicated to the Mission of the American Red Cross and would always put our clients first. She will be greatly missed by all of us. My thoughts and prayers are with Cheryl's family, friends and co-workers during this very difficult and sad time.
