Funeral services David Michael “Mike” Sims are set for 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Warren Jones officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park.
Mike died on June 25, 2015 at this residence. He was born on April 4, 1958 in Chicago, IL to the late David and Hortense Roach Sims. He was a route salesman for Knight’s Distribution, enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family, watching Law & Order, playing games on the computer, but his greatest joy came from attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and spending time with them.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Shawn Sims; and one sister, Judy Vopelak.
Survivors include his wife, Dottie Mitchell Sims; one daughter, Michelle Shelly and husband Sam; four grandchildren, Cole, Cade, Carter, and Tyler; and a host of friends.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 26, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. and from 9:00 A.M. till service time at the funeral home.
