Funeral service for Delphus Gurley, 85, are set for 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Rayburn Richardson officiating. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery Baptist Church Cemetery.
Delphus died March 21, 2019 at Stoneridge of Farmington. He was born October 6, 1933 in Alcorn Co. MS. to the late Will Ed and Mittie Gurley. He attended Union Baptist Church, was a retired plant supertendent for Abbex after 30 years. Dephus and Jewel moved back to Corinth in the early 90’s after retirement. He enjoyed gardening and family genealogy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Buford Gurley, Joe Gurley Sr., Dewey Gurley, Freeman Gurley and sister, Vanice Gurley Bowen.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years Jewel Sampson Gurley; son, Jerry Gurley (Keith); brother, Norman Gurley (Sandra); grandchildren, Melissa Anderson, Jennifer Hamsing (Mike); great grandchildren, Libby, Corey, John, Jody; great-great-grandchild, Logan; host of other family and friends.
A receiving of family and friends for Delphus will be held Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 2:50 PM at Memorial Funeral Home.
