Don died on Wednesday September 4, 2019 at Cornerstone Health and Rehab after a brief illness. He was born in Chicago, IL on April 6, 1936 to the late Rudolph and Frances Strejcek Vastlik. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War in Top Secret Crypto Clearance. Don transferred to Corinth in 1977 to work for Halls Printing Company where he was a transportation superintendent. After he retired from Halls he was active with the American Red Cross and worked in the disaster assessment field. He traveled all over the country assessing damage from everything from forest fires to hurricanes.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Katina Vastlik of Corinth; sister, Elenore Zimba and husband Ed of Wheaton, IL; niece, Lori Zimba Massaroni; nephews, Scott Zimba and Randy Vaslik and a host of other family and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Rudolph Vaslik, Jr.
