Dorothy Mitchell Griffin

Graveside services for Dorothy Mae Mitchell Griffin, 91, are set for 11:00 am Thursday at the Corinth National Cemetery.

Dorothy went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 28, 2015 in Palm Coast, Florida. She was born March 9, 1924 in Corinth to the late Dalton and Emily Messner Mitchell, she was their only child. She attended Corinth High School and played the clarinet in the marching band. On September 26, 1940, at the age of 15, she married Grady Griffin; they were married 59 years before his death in 1999. She was a resident of Palm Coast, Florida, a faithful longtime member of Hammock Community Church, she loved to travel and spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was a sweetheart to all those who knew her and a loving, caring, gracious wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

She is survived by her daughter Brenda Landess of Oklahoma City, OK and son Larry Griffin of Palm Coast, Florida. Grandchildren; Clendon Landess, Pam (Rick) Spring and Susan Landess of OK; great –grandchildren; Cameron Ledford of OK, Kyle and Jessica Ledford of Germany, Allie Ledford , Baylor, Alec, Ridge and Brooke Spring of OK.

Family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at McPeters Inc Funeral Directors
